Standard and Jumpers
Join us for Virtual AKC ACT’s (Agility Course Test) Run-Through’s!
AKC has added a JUMPERS program (no contacts)! There is now ACT1/ACT2 for Standard and ACT1/ACT2 for Jumpers!
You are also welcome to book a time slot to just get a lesson / work the equipment / practice the course! You do not need to be registered with AKC if you do not want to submit a video/paperwork!
Dogs DO need to be proficient with the obstacles. Obstacle instruction will not be given.
These are “pre-novice” agility courses and are a great starting point for agility dogs. You can earn AKC titles, too!
Dogs should be proficient with the obstacles but do not need to be registered with AKC unless you want the titles recorded on your AKC record.
Qualifying and title ribbons available! Indoors on mats, climate controlled building.
Here’s how it works:
- Book a slot for ACT1 and/or ACT2 on the calendar below. (One slot per dog.)
- BRING YOUR OWN VIDEO CAMERA AND A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY!
- We provide the facility & regulation equipment. Matrix Dog is indoors, climate controlled, and matted!
- We provide the instructor – Jen will be available to answer questions, give critique/help, video your run(s) and provide the 5 second table count.
- You may attempt the course as many times as you’d like in the 15-minute session.
- ACT Standard *IS* nested. You can do either round at each session. If you need two rounds of ACT 1 Standard, just register for any two ACT 1 Standard sessions. If you need two rounds of ACT 2 Standard, just register for any two ACT 2 Standard sessions.
- ACT Jumpers *IS NOT* nested. If you need two rounds, you will need to sign up for a “Round One” session AND a “Round Two” session.
- You will need to submit your videos to AKC with the AKC paperwork & fee in order to earn/record a Q. (See the link at the bottom of this page, above the calendar, for more information.) However, Jen is an AKC ACT evaluator – and she can let you know if the video should pass with AKC or not! Qualifying scores on two different courses are required to complete the title.
- We will also provide qualifying and title ribbons!
CONFIRMED:
- You CAN continue to enter ACT 2 even after earning the ACT 2 title! (Until the dog has earned a Novice AKC Agility title.)
- You CAN still run in ACT 1 round 2 if you title in ACT 1 round 1.
- You CAN still run in ACT 1 on future days after you’ve titled in ACT 1, until you have a Q in ACT 2.
- You CAN enter your dog in any jump height.
- You CAN change jump heights between rounds.
ACT 1 is an entry level test that is open to all dogs that have not earned a title in any AKC Agility class. Dogs must have two passing ACT 1 scores in order to earn the ACT 1 title. Both passing scores may be obtained under the same judge/evaluator. To receive the title certificate and have the title added to a dog’s record, the dog must be registered/listed with the AKC.
ACT 2 is the second level Agility Course Test that is open to all dogs that have not earned a title in any AKC Agility class except an ACT 1 title. Dogs must have two passing ACT 2 scores in order to earn the ACT 2 title. Both passing scores may be obtained under the same judge/evaluator. To receive the title certificate and have the title added to a dog’s record, the dog must be registered/listed with the AKC. The ACT 2 title will supersede the ACT 1 title on a dog’s record.
