AKC Trick Dog Title Evaluations

Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Performer, Elite Performer Levels

FLAT TITLE RIBBON INCLUDED WITH EVALUATION!

AKC allows video evaluations for Trick Dog Testing.  Please see below and email Jen@MatrixDog.com for more information!

For the Video Evaluations:

Be sure to read the “Evaluator Guide” before filming/submitting your videos.  It contains important information about the tricks that may not be included in the checklist!  Under “Evaluator Guide” over in the left menu: https://www.akc.org/sports/trick-dog/

Pay for your evaluation:

Evaluations are $11 which you can send via PayPal (click here: https://paypal.me/JenGiacchi) or snail mail me a check (contact me for my home address for sending a check).  Keep in mind if you mail a check it will take longer to process your paperwork because it takes time for the check to get to me!

After paying –

Email the following information to Jen@MatrixDog.com:

  • Dog’s name
  • Dog’s breed
  • Dog’s AKC number
  • Registered owner’s name
  • Mailing address so I can send you a title ribbon!
  • List of tricks that your dog will be performing.
    • Please list them using the verbiage on the checklist.
    • Please read the evaluator guide (under “Evaluator Guide” over in the left menu: https://www.akc.org/sports/trick-dog/), it has a lot of additional information regarding the tricks!
    • If you are doing any “handler’s choice” tricks they must be approved by AKC, or on the list of “additional tricks” in the evaluator’s guide, or from a higher level trick list.  If you have any questions about these send me an email!

You CAN submit multiple levels at the same time!  If there is an issue with the lower level I’ll just hold the higher level paperwork until we get the lower level fixed.

Send me your videos:

  • *BEFORE FILMING AND SUBMITTING YOUR VIDEOS, please read the AKC Evaluator Guide for additional information on each trick.  There are some nuances!*
  • You can facebook message the Matrix Dog business page the videos or upload them to YouTube or somewhere else and send me the links to review.  (You can also text them to me if the other stuff doesn’t work.)  You are welcome to send one video or multiple videos (except for Elite Performer). *Make sure the videos are PUBLIC or UNLISTED so that I can view them without having to request permission! This happens a lot with Google Drive and YouTube videos.*

If you video them yourself, make sure that I can see all of you and all of your dog, plus any space requirements.

If you have any questions on tricks or requirements, just let me know.

Each trick videoed separately is fine  (except Elite Performer which must be done as a routine in one continuous video), just submit all the clips at the same time (or in succession). 🙂

The evaluations are $11 per test.  You do still have to submit forms and an application (plus money) to AKC if you want the title recorded with them.

After payment is received, I will review the videos and if everything is done correctly I’ll send you an evaluation form back that you’ll send to AKC (you can submit your forms to AKC online here: https://www.apps.akc.org/title-application-portal/trick-dog or snail mail them the forms)!  If something needs to be redone I’ll let you know that as well!

And don’t forget to give me your mailing address so I can mail you a title ribbon!

For the In-Person Evaluations –

Please bring your own treats. We will have a lot of props, but if you need specific ones please bring them along.
